This Terms of Use and End User License Agreement ("Agreement") is a binding legal agreement between you ("User") and Alexandre Rémy ("Licensor") for the use of the Scan Your Boxes mobile application ("Application"), distributed exclusively through the Apple App Store for Apple devices.
By downloading or using the Application, you agree to be bound by this Agreement. If you do not agree, do not download or use the Application.
Scan Your Boxes is an app that helps users manage their belongings by creating virtual boxes in which they can store items. Users can name, photograph, describe, and label items, generate printable QR codes for physical boxes, and search across their inventory.

Subscription purchases are processed exclusively through Apple. Pricing and billing terms are displayed at the time of purchase within the App Store.
Auto-renewal: Paid subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. You will be charged for the renewal within 24 hours before the period ends. To cancel, open the iPhone Settings app → tap your Apple ID → Subscriptions → Scan Your Boxes, or visit apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period; you retain access until then. No partial refunds are issued for unused time in the current period.
The Licensor grants you a non-transferable, non-exclusive, non-sublicensable license to install and use the Application on Apple devices that you own or control, solely for your personal, non-commercial purposes, in accordance with the App Store Terms of Service and this Agreement.

The Application requires a compatible Apple device running a supported version of iOS. The Licensor may update the technical requirements at any time. It is your responsibility to verify that your device meets the requirements before purchasing or updating.
The Licensor is solely responsible for providing maintenance and support for the Application. Apple has no obligation whatsoever to furnish any maintenance and support services. Support requests may be directed to scanyourboxes@gmail.com.
You acknowledge that the Licensor will be able to access and adjust your downloaded licensed Application content and your personal information, and that the Licensor's use of such material and information is subject to your legal agreements with the Licensor and the Licensor's privacy policy: https://www.scanyourboxes.com/syb_privacy_policy.html
Cloud storage: If you subscribe to a paid tier, your box and item data (including photographs) is stored in Firebase (Google LLC) servers. See the privacy policy for details on which data is stored and how it is protected.
iCloud backup: The Application includes an optional feature to back up and restore your local database to your personal iCloud Drive. This backup is stored in your own iCloud account and governed by Apple's privacy policy. The Licensor does not have access to your iCloud Drive.
Subscribers may invite other users to access their boxes. The process works as follows:
By inviting another user, you acknowledge that your box and item data (names, descriptions, and photographs) will become accessible to that person. You are responsible for sharing invite tokens only with people you trust. The Licensor is not responsible for unauthorized disclosure of invite tokens by users.
You may submit content to the Application including item names, descriptions, and photographs ("Contributions"). You represent and warrant that:
By submitting Contributions, you grant the Licensor a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, and display your Contributions solely for the purposes of operating and improving the Application. You retain ownership of your Contributions.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Licensor's liability is limited to cases of gross negligence, except where liability cannot be excluded by law (including for essential contractual obligations, personal injury, or death caused by negligence). In no event shall the Licensor be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages. The Licensor's total aggregate liability to you shall in any case not exceed the total amount you paid for the Application in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
The Licensor warrants that the Application, at the time of your download, is free of malware and functions substantially as described in the App Store product description. If the Application fails to conform to this warranty, you may notify Apple for a refund of the purchase price. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the Application.
Refunds and cancellations: All refund requests are handled exclusively by Apple. To request a refund, visit reportaproblem.apple.com. Under French consumer law (droit de rétractation), you may be entitled to a 14-day withdrawal period from the date of your initial subscription purchase; to exercise this right, contact Apple via the link above before the end of that period.
Alexandre Rémy, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims by you or any third party relating to the Application or your possession and/or use of the Application, including but not limited to product liability claims, consumer protection claims, and intellectual property infringement claims.
You represent and warrant that (i) you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. or French government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and (ii) you are not listed on any government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
Age requirement: You must be at least 13 years of age to use the Application. If you are resident in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you must be at least 16 years of age, or have obtained verifiable parental or guardian consent, as required by GDPR Art. 8. By accepting this Agreement you confirm that you meet the applicable age requirement.

This Agreement is effective until terminated. Your rights under this Agreement will terminate automatically if you breach any of its terms. Upon termination you must cease all use of the Application and destroy all copies, full or partial, of the Application.
Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of this Agreement. Upon your acceptance of this Agreement, Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce this Agreement against you as a third-party beneficiary.
Alexandre Rémy will handle any intellectual property infringement claims relating to the Application. Apple has no responsibility for the investigation, defense, settlement, or discharge of any such claim.
This Agreement is governed by the laws of France, excluding its conflict-of-law provisions. Any disputes arising from this Agreement shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of France.
If any provision of this Agreement is held to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force. Any amendments to this Agreement must be made in writing.
